OUR STORY

We are a group of students at Christchurch Girls' High, that board at Acland House. While we all come from different backgrounds we are all connected by our shared rural roots and understanding of pressures faced by farming families. Having seen firsthand the impact that isolation, stress, and uncertainty can have on mental wellbeing, we created this business to raise awareness and support the backbone of our county.

Through our collaboration with Dog and Country, a trusted brand known for quality and authenitcity, we are proud to create a produce that represents the resilience and strength of the people that wear them. We are donating 50% of our profits to Farmstrong, which is an organisation that strives to bring support to rural communities in a variety of different ways.

It is more than just buying a jeresy your helping to make a change in rural mental wellbeing across New Zealand.

How are we supporting?

Farming is a job with a unique set of challenges.

Many are hard to predict or control. They range from climate events like drought and flood to flucatations in commodity prices, changing government legislation and new technology.

Along with these external factors, come the demands of running any business - financial and product planning, managing cash flow, hiring and managing staff, succession planning etc. These pressures aren't going to disappear so it is vital that farmers develop the skills and resilience to cope.

Research shows many farmers are great at looking after their equipment and stock, but like other NZers, they can neglect their own wellbeing. As an industry, we can't afford to let these pressures reach the point where they damage productivity and affect the lives of families.

Farmstrong is an initative to help farmers, growers and their families to cope with the ups and downs of farming by sharing things they can do to look after themselves and the people in their business.
